Center for Health Psychology
The Center for Health Psychology was founded in 1985 by Dr. Kirtley Thornton, Dr. Nathaniel Pallone, and Dr. Carl Einhorn. It is a private general mental health clinic which offers a diverse array of mental health services, ranging from individual psychotherapy, marriage counseling, psychodiagnostic testing, hypnotherapy, court evaluations for custody situations, evaluations for legal situations, and other services for a wide set of HMO, PPO type clients.
The staff at the Center has produced dozens of scientific articles during its existence.
During he past 18 years there have been over 10 Ph.D. psychologists, three psychiatrists, and five biofeedback technicians associated with the practice.
The primary focus of the clinic for the past 15 years has been in the areas of Neuropsychology, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Quantitative EEG and Neurotherapy for cognitive issues related to head injuries, learning and attention problems.
With the move to South Carolina, Dr. Thornton decided to change the clinic's name to Neuroscience Center, to reflect his activity in the QEEG scientific field.
